Triple Murder-Suicide in Foreclosed Pittsburg Home

Pittsburg man suffering from financial problems posted a suicide note on Facebook, then shot and killed his wife and her parents early Thursday in his foreclosed home before turning the gun on himself, police said.

The shooting happened at a home on the 200 block of Jack London Court about 4 a.m. Police received a call from the suspect, during which he said he had killed members of his family and threatened suicide, said police Lt. Ron Raman.

Officers arrived and tried to contact the caller but got no response. They went inside and found four people dead from gunshot wounds, including the suspected shooter, 40-year-old Jason Aube.

The victims were identified as Aube's wife, Cynthia Tiburcio-Aube, and her mother, 65, and father, 73. Their names were not released.

Aube had posted a suicide note on Facebook, police said. Its contents were not disclosed.

The couple filed for bankruptcy protection in 2009, saying they owed $552,000 for their home, valued at $240,000, court records show.

At the time, Aube worked as an accounts manager at a Santa Clara building maintenance company, and his wife worked in technical support at a Richmond construction firm.

The couple's home was in foreclosure, and a notice of default for the four-bedroom residence was issued in July, records show. The couple had lived in the home since it was built in 1999.
