The report begins: "NATO has launched 24-hour air and sea surveillance of Libya as a possible precursor to a no-fly zone, amid signs of growing Arab support for western military intervention to stop the bombing of civilians."

Comments

We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

"west prepares to act to protect Libyan citizens from Gaddafi's forces.."
More than half Libyan citizens support Qaddafi - the title should be "protect the oil in Libya" for BP/EU control.
It is dirty civil war what tribe will control oil ... and EU$rael is responsible.

So if NATO is taking care of it, the US should stay the hell out of this one. John Nutcase McCain wants us to start bombing. Newt Never-Served wants us to get involved (Let's you guys go over there and clean it up). And our DULY ELECTED President should keep us out of it.

Lets start another unfunded war!

All those brave old men like McCain want to put us in the middle of another war in north Africa. Paid for with Social Security money, because they sure won't tax the Rich to pay the Billions it will cost. This on top of the lives of the children of those lesser people in this country.

This time we must make it clear, NO MORE WARS!!! Especially those only paid for by the working class, fought only to raise the price of oil.

The Republicans are thrilled to spend up the deficit on wars, but public schools for the lower classes? the profit motive for our corporate overlords is not in public schools or insurance for babies or the elderly. Better the elderly die before they tap into Social security and Medicare
