Excerpt: "The head of Libya's revolutionary council, Mustafa Abdel Jalil, claimed that if Gaddafi's forces were to reach the country's second-largest city it would result in 'the death of half a million' people. The Arab League, meeting in Cairo, called on the UN security council to impose a no fly-zone on Libya as Gaddafi's forces also began to move against Misrata, a city of 300,000 people about 125 miles from Tripoli."

Comments

We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

This is a tribal war for oil - not for a freedom of people. It is naive to think that ex-Kadafi generals (now our men/CIA in Libya) are fighting for the one person one vote. More like for their share of oil. Like our man in Baghdad or Kabul.

1986 - "American war criminals killed 100 innocent, unarmed, poor Libyan men, women and children including the baby daughter of Kadafi, 15-month-old Hana; two of Kadafi’s sons, aged 3 and 4 1/2, were injured – How can anybody love Americans after committing such heinous crimes – Remembering Reagan as another assassin"
- keep the balance .. why people of Libya are fighting for Kadafi and winning -

Who cares! Libyans have this crappy country because they are small minded tribal people and until that changes, they will continue to have a crappy government. Real change is painful. Only by working together can the tribes be united, so let them die until they figure it out...it is better for the whole world and the only way to get real change. Intervention will just put it off another 20 or 30 years!
