Al Jazeera journalist Cal Perry begins: "Every other journalist is trying to get into Syria, but on Saturday I was trying to get out. The government had made it perfectly clear: My visa was expiring and unless I left on April 23, I would 'face the full force of the law.'"

Comments

We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

Newly released WikiLeaks cables reveal that the US State Department has been secretly financing Syrian opposition groups and other opposition projects for at least five years, The Washington Post reports.
That aid continued going into the hands of the Syrian government opposition even after ..Bush administration withdrew the US ambassador in 2005 over concerns about Syria's involvement in the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri.
The Post reported that much of the money – as much as $6 million since 2006 – has been funneled through a group of Syrian exiles in London, known as the Movement for Justice and Development. The group is connected to a London-based satellite television station that is broadcast in Syria, known as Barada TV, which has recently expanded its coverage to include the mass protests.

What a banal and self-indulgent article. Who cares about Cal Perry. If you don't like Syria, just go home and shut up. Maybe you can watch yourself on closed circuit TV. You seem to think your life is so interesting. Masturbation is for people like you. Your efforts at "war reporting" just read a phony.

Why write about what US marines do. We all know they are trained murderers. They think about murder all the time.

Why can't you see the outside forces organizing the rebellions in Syria. Don't you know how to dig out a story. You seem totally uninformed about the campaigns against Syria by the US and Israel.

Please don't write any more on this subject. Go home. Jerk off. Do something.
