Chris Murphy (D-CT): "The lead sponsor of a bill which would strip Supreme Court justices of their immunity from a code of ethical conduct that applies to other federal judges - suggests that an investigation may be necessary to determine whether Justice Clarence Thomas' many ethics scandals rise to the level where Thomas is no longer fit to serve on the nation's highest Court."

Weiner made it easy for them. Not so, Mr. Murphy. He is my Congressman, I worked the phones for his election and re-election, I have contributed to his Senate campaign. I have met and spoke with him on several occasions. He is probably one of the most politically savvy young liberal politicians in the country. In all likelyhood he will take Schmuck Lieberman's Senate seat in 2012. He is a major threat to the Republican agenda. If they could have wrecked him, they would have by now.
Chris Murphy is an example of why the 2012 Congressional election is so important!
Put the Dems back in the majority in 2012!

Thomas should be impeached and put in jail for income tax invasion. If ordinary people failed to report an income of over $700,000 the IRS would put a yellow crime scene rope around their property and they would not be allowed in the house to get their underwear. Thomas, Allito, Scalia and Roberts are the guardian angels of corporate interests and a national disgrace. They do not have any respect for the rights of ordinary people. All public servants should be subjected to the same code of ethics.

That's precisely why they were appointed and confirmed, by Republican presidents and senators, respectively. I recall my total shock when Thomas squeezed through 52-48, after those fractious hearings. I recall my total disgust when Roberts and Alito squirmed out of answering any questions in their confirmation hearings. "Just calling balls and strikes" -- !!!

Clarence Thomas's ethics violations are outrageous. He's a complete disgrace to the Court and must resign ASAP. If he won't go voluntarily, then impeach him or otherwise force him out. Can you imagine the drumbeat from the rightwing media and GOP zombie-pols if a LIBERAL justice had behaved as Thomas routinely behaves? Thomas's breaches are 100X more grave than Weiner's sextexting.

Apparently SCOTUS is somewhat immune to being held legally responsible according to some due to a flaw in our Constitution.
But the Constitution does say that justices "shall hold their offices during good behaviour." How is not paying your taxes on at least $700,000 good behavior? I think we need to support Mr. Murphy's efforts and rise up en masse. Unless you've posted lewd pictures on Twitter, they can't get rid of all of us.

Universlman--and I wonder how much muscle the right wing has? Some mighty wealthy and powerful right wingers back Thomas--Limbaugh is one. Some of us have watched dumbfounded as Republican Senators and Congressmen have deferred to Limbaugh. According to Limbaugh, he and Thomas are pals--Thomas officiated at his previous wedding, and Limbaugh defends Thomas often and staunchly on his radio show. Imagine, Rush Gaspants influencing Senators, Congressmen, and Supreme Court Justices--let alone many ordinary voters. How did this happen?

The problem is DEMOCRATS, who rat out their own and whine about Republicans, but rarely light fire to their complaints. If they inflame the Clarence Thomas story and pursue it to fruition, as they did in the Weiner story, then they have my support. Otherwise, I don't want to hear them whine! Weiner impacted no one, but himself and family. Thomas, sitting on the Supreme Court, impact millions, evidenced by the recent "Walmart Class Action Lawsuit." If he were a Democrat, Republicans would have declared him an ACTIVIST JUDGE and ran him out of dodge years ago! Republicans have balls!
