"American officials in recent days have warned repeatedly that the release of documents by WikiLeaks could put people's lives in danger. But despite similar warnings before the previous two releases of classified US intelligence reports by the website, US officials concede that they have no evidence to date that the documents led to anyone's death."

Wikifakes! Wikileaks is a psy-op run by the mossad. http://www.veteranstoday.com/2010/11/27/gordon-duff-wikileak-predictions-sticking-my-neck-out-2/
Look through the "leaks" but you will never see any material relating to the huge crop of opium that has flourished in Afghanistan since the invasion. You won't read anything about how israel is endangering the United States, but we know there have been many Pentagon papers discussing this issue. Statements by Mullen, Biden and Petreus prove this fact.
What will you find in wikileaks? Anti-Iran propaganda, anti-Saudi stories, and little tid-bits that say how disorganized the US is.
Another reason to doubt wiki-licks: you hear about it in the MSM.

Was the State Dept, White House, CIA concerned about the lives of citizens and friendly U.S. operatives abroad, when Cheney, Scooter Libby, Rove outed Valerie Plame? Did they care about Plame, husband Joe Wilson and their children? Did they care about the families abroad who colaborated with U.S. and tortured. killed when Plame was exposed? It's pure hypocracy coming out of the DOS & Rebuplicans in Congress!

"No evidence that Wikileaks hurt anyone" vs the first comment “Wikifakes! mossad”. Again little has been said, in-between these extremes. Would Majid Shahriyari been killed & another Iranian nuclear scientist hurt or war with Iran less likely had Wikileaks not been released?

Julian Assange wants freedom, liberty & justice, but he is a slave to what he has been fed. Could be persuaded that he may be accomplishing other than he wants. Maybe Army Specialist Bradley Manning leaks were compounded by what others secretly pasted on what he collected. Wikileaks, in Wikipedia, has a more careful analysis. Also, http://partisan.blogs.hopelesslypartisan.com

Sadly, it’s like convincing 9/11 Truth that they were fed the lies that an Israeli missile (not a plane) struck the Pentagon, or a controlled implosion theory got started by those who didn't want Cheney to be charged with criminal negligence, or to be questioned on why he hid he was in a fallout shelter drill that morning.

Groups get influenced by the other side, see Gun Lobby Spy. Not just with progressives. Liberals not conservatives insist that Sarah Palin is the leading conservative

Sadly, Richard Kane still thinks that a steel frame building can implode at free-fall speed without controlled demolition. Sadly, he thinks that the explanation given by the government over the corporate MSM that explained 9/11 WHILE we were watching the events are valid without ANY PROOF.

Why should we quibble over the phony "leaks" that the intelligence services (CIA/mossad) want us to think about?

People should be more concerned that this fascist government is going to use wikifakes as an excuse to shut down the internet... the same way the fake 9/11 was used to explain the wars, the partiotard act, and now squeezing our junk at the airport.

I had no objections to the earlier leaks of what people on the battlefield had written. Diplomats, however have to have secret conversations with whoever they are dealing with. They probably should not be written down, however.
I cannot get an affection for Julian Assange going no matter how hard I try. I can just look at his face and know I would not like to have dinner with him.

He's too smug/arrogant/sure of himself. A REAL traitor/anarchist in fear of his life/arrest would not be arrogant enough to give so many interviews and press-conferences!

Also, WikiLeaks claimed to have a treasure-trove of CORPORATE secrets, so why release this bullshit gossip first?
It just brought down unnecessary heat on himself and the rest of the Internet--just to give America a gratuitous "FUCK YOU!"?
It'd be like shooting a cop on your way to collect lottey winnings!

Thanks Anne Emerman 2010-11-30 12:05 for reminding us that hypocrites weren’t worried about Valerie Plame, or husband Joe Wilson but hypocrites usually get away with it. I’m scared for NY Times, Democracy Now & an excuse to close the Internet. Salon & Talking point did criticize the leaks, salon.com/technology/dan_gillmor/2010/11/29/wikileaks_a_few _questions

Neocons wanted to blame a new 9/11 on those who said terror dangers were hype, now can make sure that people get hurt from the leaks to prove their point. Progressives got coned earlier with the 9/11 implosion theory getting in the way with simpler demands like demanding why Cheney hid he was in a fallout shelter drill that morning, abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread632040/pg1

If you google “France declares war on al Qaeda” note terror like bedbugs don’t go away, but we don’t have to destroy ourselves with bug poison or bankrupting anti-terror wars. Progressives start realizing it’s a complicated world

I would like to respond to EPGAH’s over-criticism of Julian Assange and over-critic

Some people such as Julian Assange and Rush Limbaugh believe that the more noise they make the more they accomplish. Everything he did seems calculated to make noise including the order in which he releases the gossip soup he got a hold of. It’s more than likely that if he apologized for slightly too aggressive dating behavior, he wouldn’t have baited his ex-partner into pressing rape charges. But he relishes the increased publicity, exaggerated charges bring.

It’s sad that Danual Elesburg has discredited himself by wrapping around his Vietnam leaks with a publicity hound.

Most scary is those who now want to equate a systematic noisemaker with those who plant suicide bombs to kill people. Three cheers for the cool headed statements that Defense Secretary Robert Gates is making even if Gates hasn’t cooled tension in foreign policy.
