We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

Reports that at least three of the deaths were actually murder that occurred during interrogation by the CIA mean that this one needs to be investigated as well.

There was never a real investigation of the 3 gitmo suicides in 2006. It was just the military investigating the military and saying 'case closed'. please read the article in harpers magazine or the huge investigation done by seton hall law school. [u can probably just google guantanamo suicides to find links.] this suicide wont be investigated either. [there was at least 1 other suspicious suicide at gitmo that i read about. the cause of death was given as suicide/asphyxiation] When the military says case closed, the doj just lets it go, and the media ignores it. both the cia and jsoc can commit murders with complete security that they will rarely be investigated. the most a murderer will get, even if found guilty, is a slight tap on the wrist before they go back to work. there was another detainee murder i read about recently that is in court now. a prison guard, at bagram i think, just went on duty and shot a sleeping prisoner. the guard is pleading insanity. he supposedly will get the shortest sentence on record. i suspect that detainee murders happen more often than we know.

If Inayatullah was such a threat, why wasn't he charged with a crime in the 4 years held prisoner? Charged, tried and if found guilty, punished...it's simple. Held for 4 years in that awful place and found dead...suicide or state sponsored murder?
