Mary Landrieu appears capable of articulating the conflict between jobs and the environment, but she stalls there. There is no vision for a better tomorrow.

We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

Mary Landrieu talks out both sides of her mouth. She is in favor of greed and votes with no concern for the environment, habitat, wildlife, or coastal life. Its a fact that the original coastline that protected the marsh land from hurricanes has been destroyed by all the drilling and environmental destruction.

Mary Landrieu and Blanch Lincoln are bought and paid for by Big Oil. Many more Republicans too. If fisherman and wildlife suffer, why should oil operations continue...no way. Problems were ignored and we were lied to. These oil companies, with help from Dick Cheney and George W. Bush, went on to "drill, baby, drill" with no oversight. The whole Gulf of Mexico is becoming a DEAD ZONE! All life will die. No oxygen for the marine life. Toxic for anyone to come near it. Thousands of lives have been lost, so far. BP and it's power has blocked efforts to photograph them lining the beaches or floating in the oil muck. Shame on Americans for letting this happen. It's greed over need. Profits over people...wildlife...our way of life. Who's controling the message here? Where's the freedoms we once had? Bush/Cheney took much of this away and Obama is continuing their failed methods. Push BP aside and let's work together as a nation with ideas and will to clean up their mess.

Why is it that everything in Louse-ianna sticks, from the oil in the gulf stream to politics!

It must the educational level that is taught in it's school houses.

It sounds to me like the next thing Senator Landrieu is going to push for is a federal bailout for BP!

This little Senator from Lousiana should be looking longterm down the road and bringing renewable energy projects to her state. It takes a talented Senator with great vision to change the source of employment for her people. This Senator is lacking that talent.
