happy to have the "other side" given a voice. Keep on keeping on! Ed & Susan (garrulous octogenarians)

What I notice--because I give space to both Right and Left--is that ideology is primary and human values is secondary coming from both ends of the spectrum. Alternet is just as ANTI-whatever as Newsmax.

What I notice is that the Left has its own dysinfo, its own propaganda, its own inability to listen. I have both Right and Left commentary on my web-site; and I delete Racism, Sexism and Ideological bullshift from both ends of the spectrum. If the Left reallty wanted Peace with Justice, they would act like it. So would the Right.

Rushie and Co. are always 'blaming' Soros for Media Matters...interestingly he is not a donor... shows how much truth and honesty they have.
I love Media Matters and am thankful every day that WE have such a great organization on our side.

vicki- Mr. Soros IS a donor via Podesta's Center for American Progress, which directly helps support Media Matters. And I'm delighted he is.

It seems to cause great ire in the right when the simple truth is exposed. Media matters may seem to go out of their way to debunk only right wing statements and proclamations; but it is the right that makes creates so much misinformation.

"Vast Left Wing Conspiracy" how hilarious!

The suspiciously very well organized Reich Wing's use of the Nazis' Big Lie technique against the Health Care shows who they really are...up to and including suggesting to the public that it is the Left and not them who are marching in goose steps, turning in perfect formation with one another on issue after issue... Each staying exactly on script with the exact sames words, from the Senate and House Chamber to Fox News to the Washington Times.

Jon Stewart's been showing it but it needs to go beyond the Comedy Channel... We need to start showing that curious tendency of theirs to move in lockstep more clearly.

It's just too bad so many Americans, especially in the business sector, will like that "orderliness" over the seeming chaos of real democracy.

When the Bushes occupied the White House I noticed a consistent feature in news articles that were basically fair except for one thing: the Republicans' views were presented at both ends of articles. That seemed like a conspiracy to me. Now I see that their views still usually wrap up articles. It's still a conspiracy. Media Matters is a step toward real fairness.

As Director of the Whatever Party, I would like to make it clear that the Whatever base don't care in the least that both Newsmax and Alternet are anti-Whatever. As we say, "Whatever!"

Vote Whatever in 2010

The need to control the media has been a right wing desire since the Nixon era. They have understood the need to 'manage the news' better than the left wing has.
Unfortunately they use a 'bully pulpit' to slam home their messages. The left wing seems to be aligned with reason as their chief ally.
We are not in an age of enlightened reason so Media MAtters exists to fight the ongoing battle for the control of the printed and spoken word. We can only hope to match the efforts of the right in the control of the media.
The key to our success will be in the educating of the younger voters and the reliance on reason to combat the right wing bombasticity.

I'm glad to see some organized resistance to the conservative propaganda machine. But I thought this article was a poorly written, poorly organized mishmash of topics and examples. I wish the liberal views were represented by more coherent advocates.
