I learned of the conservatives war on school lunches in 1980 when I was very active in NOW and interviewed many local candidates. In one school board race, no one had been interviewed and I voted for the woman. She won by two votes. Next thing I knew this wife of a wealthy man was saying that she had a mandate to end school lunches. I have been observing this strange view for 30 years now, even as a social worker when I saw a not usually nice school principle make certain that a hungry child got two meals at breakfast and lunch every day until the rest of the legal system finally rescued the child.

When did government and government workers, everyone from teachers to police, become the enemy? I read about huge government pensions and health benefits for retirees when the state of Florida charges almost $600 a month for single health care and $1200 a month for families. Just a couple of years ago, this area was trying to have special housing for police and teachers because government employees could not afford to live here. Have the people gone nuts?

Glen Beck is proof that half of the USA are loonies, brain dead, misinformed or just plain stupid!

The Christian religion has a lot to do with it. Just look as those hypocrites who work on small minds (Sarah Palin, Beck, O'Reilly and whatsa-ma-call him, Rush Limbah, and the rest of the Fox News crap.

These are just one of the reason why the USA basks in ignorance, arrogance, stupidity, fear and racial hatred.
