Hyperbolic exaggeration is a primary tool of the Cheney-Limbaugh-type Republicans. Concern about accuracy or the Constitution of the United States does not rank highly in their distorted view of principled discourse.

Seems to me that this confuses some disparate commodities. Paranoia is not the same thing as security. Legal lynching has never been the same thing as justice. And blatant misanthropy and continuing caricaturizatio n of the other in a global economy makes no sense at all.

Of course the idea that the Cheney/Yoo folks ever wanted justice is laughable. Why would they want it now in an administration trying desparately to repair 8 years of damage to our international reputation?

Years ago Harvard ethicist Lawrence Kohlberg created a six stage measurement of moral reasoning based upon observations of peoples around the world. Stage 3 is the tribal stage where we only trust those who share our circumstances and ideologies. Here we find most Republicans and religious right folks. Stage 1 operates out of the constant fear of punishment. This is the stage most small children are in. It is also the stage the Cheney/Yoo paranoia operates out of.

When--when oh when will we be free of the Cheney's ? Now we have to contend with an alter ego in the form of, carved off the old blockhead, daughter Liz. Hey, enough already. It truly nauseates me to see anyone that resembles Cheney...much less one who spouts off at the mouth using His same poisonous words. It is such as they that have turned True Conservatives out of the Republican party. Course, some have passed themselves off as Blue Dog Democrats. I will allow them to adopt the First part of the description, as it fits them very well. But it is time to reclaim our party and work at restoring it back to it's original roots. The Party Of No that it has become is degrading to the true conservatism of its' roots.
