We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

Julian Assange is a hero. The USG is the most secretive criminal gang on earth. It spies on everyone, but gets angry when someone spies on it. The world would a lot better if the USG were totally exposed and then dismantled.

To me he is a hero and it shows how many want the world to know what is being done in our names by these brutal, corrupt warlords, our military - people must be informed in order to make knowledgeable decisions. These lords of war don't want us to know, they just want us to pay as our economy crumbles! I just hope they don't get him - he is a brave young man.

No offense to WikiLeaks or Assange, but the actual report in question (which I just read), seems like a red herring, as it focuses on the "export" of individual terrorists as being the passive effect of our "freedom" rather than exposing the carefully orchestrated state-sponsored terrorism which is the real issue. It raises a question in my mind about who might stand to gain from "leaking" such a report. The U.S. does indeed export terrorism, but not so much in the way this report describes. If I were WikiLeaks, I would not trust any further "intelligence" from this particular source.

Wikileaks is a necessary organization to keep our government honest. Fox and many other so-called news organization do not even try to report the news. Fox news is an embarrassment to news groups.

FOX is not a real news channel. If it could be dissected, I'm sure we'd find that it's one of many media outlets that gets paid to be a professional rabble-rouser for the right wing. They may get lots of advertising money, but it's not afraid to lose any advertisers, so it can't be successfully boycotted. They ARE the advertiser. They export fear, anxiety, lies, and misinformation, as well as fomenting hatred between any groups it can wedge apart so we keep fighting each other instead of them. Divide and conquer! It has worked throughout history. Why stop now.
