Good luck with getting voters to the polls! I elected Dems to both housses and the presidency and I still don't have health care! I got nothing but a bunch of watered down, loop holed, supply side, torture me and take my civil rights crap. I'm looking third party or not bothering. Dems and repubes and born in the same privatized hospital.

It has seemed to me that President Obama has been receiving some poor advice for some time. Since Rahm Emanuel, as Chief of Staff, makes some important decisions on who has access to the President, he has become, possibly, the most important man in the world. We need someone with a wider world view than Mr. Emanuel, who will likely make a pretty good Mayor of Chicago. Rhen, maybe, Democrats will have a better chance--if only in 2012.

I agree. I am appalled that the people know (polls show) that the Republicans are responsible for the mess, and may make it worse, but are also considering voting for them, just because its the Dems in power trying to handle the mess that they admit the Reps. caused. I've been on both sides and in both parties - watching the political use of a national crisis and the destruction being wrought gives me no reason to consider the Republicans now. They are willing to do real damage, that will affect my kids, in order to make political gains with the least informed. That is not something a party of good governance would EVER do.

Dems could very well retain control as Plouffe said. They ought to remind voters of all the legislation they've passed AND pledge to keep an eye on all of it to insure it works as they intend. With Rahm gone from the White House, Obama very well may get better, less-corporate centric advice. As for healthcare, Obama and the Dems should also pledge that with them in control, there could be further reforms which could benefit consumers (the many). With GOP in control, there will only be laws pushed to benefit the corporations (the few).

It could also be about how Republicans represent Global Corporate interests and how their ENTIRE '''Less Government''' through ''Less Regulation''' and ''Less Taxation'' Agenda is really all about them and a total flim flam designed to DIS-EMPOWER the American People and tricking people into voting for taking away OUR control over OUR Government and OUR Country.

The whole 'LESS GOVERNMENT'' ''LESS REGULATION'' ''LESS TAXATION'' Scheme is all about the transfer of wealth and power from 97% of Americans to the 3% Wealthy Global Corporate Class.

People don't like to suddenly discover that they have been both lied to AND conned out of their money and power...

This would be a great thing to make Americans 'AWARE' of. And also quite difficult seeing as how big and all pervasive the Global Corporate CONservative Media Empire is and how busy it is 24/7 convincing millions to vote against their own best interests.

Its a Big Con Job. Maybe the Biggest in History.

This election will not be about Democratic or Republican. The public is rightfully distrustful of party lines, since the system itself allows influence to be bought and promises to voters to be compromised. The election will be determined candidate by candidate, each one will have to stand on his or her own merit and credibility. Let the chips fall where they may.
