Intro: "Many news outlets that have reported on US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas' failure to disclose his wife's income are portraying the allegations as, at most, a misdemeanor. But new reports suggest that Thomas' actions would amount to a felony if proven in a court of law."

We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

Thomas is morally bankrupt. He sexually harassed Anita Hill and got away with it. He should be jailed with his buddy Scalia.
Thomas & Scalia wine and dine with the Kochs and get all these goodies. Their funds should be investigated. I am sure they are getting their pockets filled too. Thomas' disgusting wife is being paid big bucks by these billionaires that have bought the court. We have the best government and court that money can buy. Unfortunately, no one has the "balls" to prosecute those rats' asses. How does anyone forget to report a $700,000 salary unless they have gotten more money illegally and failed to report it.

And who is supposed to bring charges? The IRS? The Stupremes? The DOJ? The state of Thomas' residence? Nobody?

I'll do it. I think I'll not report some income and if I'm charged, I'll plead (as in When Harry Met Sally - the restaurant scene) "I'll have whatever he has"

CT should never have been nominated to the SCOTUS. It is a cruel joke, perpetrated by conservatives, that he was ever qualified to be a justice on the court of Ultimate Appeal. One of the few and significant differences between the Dem and Repub administrations is the quality and intelligence of their presidential and Supreme nominees. If he is serving on the SC he should be able to figure out IRS forms, the rest of us are held to that level, and there are penalties applied if we don't. His history on the SC is one of partisan activism, ergo, his tax evasion should be viewed with suspicion.

But Dems voted for him too. That's the real outrage.

Thomas should be charged with a felony and impeached. Scalia and Thomas are probably on Koch's payroll since they are so frequently wined and dined by the Tea Party founding fathers. Thomas' wife salary was possibly not reported because he has received and taken so many bribes that he lost track of his millions that he received and her salary was so small in comparison. Thomas', Scalia's and other Supreme Court justices should all have their bank accounts investigated. This is what happens when one appoints a totally morally bankrupt man to a high position. No one believed Anita Hill or helped that poor dear when she told us about him. Now we have a national disgrace on the Supreme Court. He will not be prosecuted because no one in government has the "balls" to do it. By the way, he computers should be examined for "kiddy" porn too.

The higher up you are, the more you steal, the greater your crime, the less the punishment. Kind of makes that slogan carved into the Supreme Court building "equal justice under law" just that, a meaningless slogan.

the Egyptians just threw out the Mubarack government because it had become corrupt. Once againm the United States is behind the rest of the world.

we are so obsessed with the status quo and not rocking the boat that Thomas and Scalia seem to be banking on a pass while engaged in deliberate sedition.

I STILL haven't heard an explanation as to WHY he USED to report her income then, for whatever reason, stopped. If he USED to report it, WHY did he stop? Either he is too stupid to live, or he is the corrupt pervert they knew him to be prior to his appointment and remains so to this day. She is no better. They make a perfect couple. The other four are craven Right-Wing extremists with no Moral compasses to guide them. That does NOT excuse them for getting into bed with the Mega-Wealthy and Big Businesses who, now thanks to these very biased pro-Right-Wing "judges" are now declared "people". I like the idea that, if it doesn't have a navel, it ISN'T a person! Businesses and Corporations DON'T have navels, hence...the are NOT people! Case closed! Next case!

We have become a nation of slaves where our politicians' agendas are about making themselves filthy rich on our money. In the 60's and 70's a person could make $15,000 to $20,000 a year and buy a house for about the same price. Now a starting salary might be $25,000 to $35,000 but the price of the same house is probably more like $400,000. We have allowed the government to use our tax dollars for themselves, their family and friends. They are above the law. Our so called vice president cheney shot a man in the face. Did anyone hear the details about that incident? How do you shoot someone in the face and not be accountable for it. If one of us slaves shot someone in the face we would have been thrown in a dungeon the next day. We need to organize, break our nds and march on the White house. We want our money back, that nazi homeland security act repealed for good - 10 years after 9/11 it's been voted into law. Who do you think they are trying to keep down and illegally persecute this time? - well wake up it's US,the SLAVES. We need to act now before we are all locked up for being poor. And clarence thomas would be at the front of the line to vote us down so he and his wife can keep murdering and stealing from us. These added security measures make or democracy into a dictatorship. WE CAN"T LET IT HAPPEN & VERY SOON IT WILL BE TOO LATE. WE NEED TO TAKE ACTION - NOW!!!!

I cannot believe the gulliblity of America for the last 30 years! Reagan a joke, all Bush's rotten clear back the whole last century. Family tradition to make money off of war! Our country is very strong and can fend off a internal uprising and have camps ready for any mass internments...for whatever reason. I feel we are lost. The police are answerable to themselves (google 'Boiling Frogs 101' for great documentary). The gap between the poor and rich is getting larger and the rich are protected as they were during Katrina when people weren't allowed to leave the devastation. George W.'s compassion. Supreme Court are of course the most arrogant of our countries power sources. Isolated, unapproachable, unavailable, unaccountable. Nice system we have here. Our educational system is falling like a rock but we don't mention we are #30 in the world in science knowledge. We ignore our problems and busy ourselves with other peoples problems like Iraq, AfganiNAM, it is endless we always are at war with someone. Then we have deadbeat jerks ruling our country. Evil, mean, selfish, selfcentered, nosey, pushy, etc. And what don't we know?? Thank god for Assange and Wiki! Let the truth be told..no more secrets from the public.
