Anonymous Soldier: "Frustration can be read not just in secret cables and military reports - it is apparent at all levels, among soldiers of all ranks, from privates to generals."

The disclosure of billions of dollars that are unaccounted for, billions of dollars of money derived from Irag oil is sickening and a previous report of sewage on the streets and power that is a some time thing. How long have we been there, six, seven years and what have we done for the Irag people? Nothing. Just an opportunity for graft.

The author has said that Afghanistan is not Vietnam, which is of course literally correct, and of course the political landscape is different, but the issues he/she identifies are identical. Some of us have lived long enough to know.

We will leave Afghanistan in the hands of people our power structure does not like, as surely as we did Vietnam. The only question is how many people have to die, and how many billions have to be spent, before we get there.

That soldier should be given a Medal Of Honor!

I agree, and we should have more hero whistleblowers, so we can get the hell out and bring our soldiers and our money home. Also be sure to advise Israel that if they attack Iran, they are on their own. NO MORE WAR. It is destroying our country and theirs.

From a 'Nam vet to this anonymous soldier, we understand what you mean by "It is a frustration that comes from 12 months in 'the Stan' and the question that lingers when you are gone: Why are we there?"

The parallels to Vietnam are beyond stunning. Like a man trying to correct his first bad marriage in a second.
I can only say that though the Wikileaks release helps in firming up what we already knew about Pakistan's ambivalent loyalties and our atrocities, no one on this earth is to blame for our failing efforts in Afghanistan or Iraq but We the People and our "representative government"! These are campaigns based wholly on lies and fraud, to benefit government desk-bound ideologues and corporate wolves. Why are people arguing fine points of strategy and tactic? This is like evaluating bitter vinegar as if it were wine. There is nothing good for anyone in any of this, except the usual stinking wolves. What will it take to wake us up? The alarm bells are maxed out, folks!

Unquote.
It would be appreciated by other then U.S. citizens, if you altered your posting with the removal of reference to 'WORLD' and replace with American.
Thank you.
The rest of the World citizens have know now since the illegal invasion of many of the matters dealt with in the release of these documents.
In fact much of it, has been common knowledge now for a very long time, except in the U.S.
However, Bradley is entitled to recognition for what he's ALLEGEDLY done.
Note, he has only been charged with an offence, it is up the courts to decide whether that charge is legitimate, clearly, such small matters don't seem to bother many Americans, nor the military hierarchy, lynching it would seem, is still very popular in the U.S. today.
