Hedges writes: "Those who cannot love - and I have seen these deformed human beings in the wars and conflicts I covered - are spiritually and emotionally dead. They affirm themselves through destruction, first of others and then, finally, of themselves. Those incapable of love never live."

We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

God bless America, cause we are sound asleep.
Don't know the root cause of 9/11, no we haven't heard a peep.
And nobody seems to know why Pearl Harbor happened too, well I'm here to tell you friends, its just oil, oil, oil.

We're spending hundreds of billions on the middle east.
Bush told us we were doing it just to keep the peace.
He said that there were weapons of mass destruction too,
but the reason my freinds was just oil, oil, oil.

I heard Bush laugh at Gore during the debates.
Gore said "We need more renewable energy, not more Arab hate."
But Bush is a Texas oil man who thought he knew the score,
all he understood was more, more, more (petroleum that is).

And yes our young men are still dying across the sea.
They think the're dying for freedom,
but they just can't see.
Bush pulled the wool over their eyes,
It's really oil, oil, oil they will soon surmise.

And when our boys have come home from the middle east,
I hope they'll be out there a-marchin in the streets,
I hope they'll be a-yellen at the top of their lungs,
Indict Bush & Cheney,
Indict the bums.

Dear Mr. Hedges, a simple thank you seems inadequate to express my gratitude for this piece.
