Excerpt: "With a few exceptions (and there are a few), the behavior of Republican politicians and conservative pundits in this whole ghastly affair grows ever more disgusting and contemptible. And the poltroonery in certain quarters of what ought to be the other side is just sad."

We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.
General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.
Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

Is this what the USA has become?
As for a lot of so called progressives, they act like big pussies in that they won't take on KLANservatives by boycotting their donors and pressuring donors to KLANservatives for the legislation that KLANservatives block in congress.
If liberals pressured KLANservatives for legislation then we would not give a crap about people like Newt Gingrich or Glen Beck or FAUX news which appear distractions and actually help the poor and middle classes.

We have to use arguments like the ones in this great article to stress that opponents of the proposed Muslim center are hurting US security and endangering US troops.
We should also do all we can through letters, call ins to talk shows, and debates to shift attention to the Republican record of failure and obstruction. Some questions for them include:
1. What exactly would the Republicans do if they returned to power to:
a. create jobs?
b. reduce the deficit?
2. How would Republican policies if they returned to power differ from those during the Bush years that had such disastrous effects for the US and worldwide?
3. Since the Republicans drove the country into a ditch during the two Bush terms and are now doing everything possible to prevent the Democrats from getting us out of the ditch, why should we give them the keys to power again?
If so, then this should be a much greater outrage to our sensitivities than a prayer room.
