We might make note that most of what Beck (and a lot of the Right) accuse their opposition of doing is EXACTLY what they themselves are doing! Simply take their crazy talking points and reverse their direction and you have a pretty good analysis of motivation and schemes. It is a PATTERN. And it's nuts too.

To carry on so frenetically about a half-century-old article is extreme derangement. Beck is certifiably insane -- he may be constitutionall y entitled to free rant, but not to the physical endangerment of others.

It is notable that rightwing rhetoric produces smear campaign with impunity, while the left in divulging "classified" information is outlawed. Does this mean that American political/judicial policy is rightwing? Such as Beck, Limbaugh, O'reilly could not continue their reign without a nod from war room bastions.

We need to keep in mind. Glenn Beck is an actor. He reads the script written for him by Rupert Murdoch. If you need to get mad, make it about Rupert Murdoch. Glenn Beck is an actor.

I agree, Murdoch is the real problem. Without him the nut balls would be broadcasting on CB radios from the cab of their semi trucks. I'm a truck driver and I can tell you there are plenty if nut balls driving trucks that could take a job with Murdoch, and these people are some of the very ones that are being hurt by the compression of the economy and citizens rights.

Glenn Beck is also a citizen, and nominally, a human being. He carries the same moral responsibility for his actions, words, and choice of occupation as anyone else, and bit more given his leverage in the media. I will not grant him a Nuremberg defense as you suggest as he is not worthy even of that, being under no duress whatever to perform his task, as arguably a Nazi war criminal might have been. His messages in letter preserve plausible deniability for all consequences but in tone are virtual direct orders to loose cannon gun toting "patriots" to take action, as they have in the recent past. Looking to his bosses is essential but does not let Beck off the hook for being the willing media hatchet man, nor for his ulterior motive of using fear to promote precious metal scams that fleece his audience and line Beck's pockets. On the right it all about money.

I seem to recall seeing a picture of Beck in a Nazi uniform....what more do we need to know? Let's remember that Hitler couldn't have come to power without big money behind him and he promosed them he would destroy the labor unions. He did just that and everyone ended up being part of the National Labor Front. Just what you see being done today with the funding of Murduck, Kroch, and other fascists. Beck, like Hitler, is simply their puppet!

Since Beck revels in attention the best reaction would be to ignore him. The more he is the attention of MSNBC, Jon Stewart, etc. the more he feels empowered.

The problem with this is, if all the sunny side people ignored him he would still get the rapt attention of those on the dark side. They would listen to his lies and see them as truth.

So is it best to ignore him as an ignorant gnat or to draw attention to his lies?

Glenn Beck has proven himself a ranting, ignorant, although brilliant commentator. He knows what he is doing for the reactionary people of the USA and probably for "Corporate America" who back him and encourage his demagog advocacy of bigotry, misinformation, distortion, and worse. Because we are a nation with freedom of speech, he has a place on the air, but I quit listening and watching him years ago when I discovered how baseless his allegations are. He has enough viewers to retain his sponsors, but those who do promote his programs with their advertising lose customers with intellect and education.
