Gingrich Film Slams Romney, Angers Republicans
16 January 12
The video above, titled "When Mitt Romney Came to Town," was produced by a so-called "Super PAC" named "Winning Our Future." While Winning Our Future states on its website: "Not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee," they also go on to say, "Winning Our Future means nominating Former Speaker Newt Gingrich for President in 2012. And advancing that goal is what Winning Our Future is all about."
The backing for Winning Our Future appears to come in large part from Gingrich's friend and longtime associate, billionaire gambling mogul Sheldon Adelson. According to the New York Times, Adelson staked Winning Our Future with a $5 million war chest.
"When Mitt Romney Came to Town" appears to have been a component of Mr. Gingrich's strategy for defeating Mr. Romney for the Republican presidential nomination. However, Gingrich, under pressure from Republican power brokers to tone down the criticism, has now backed away from the film citing "inaccuracies" and saying, "I am calling on them to either edit out every single mistake or pull the entire film." -- RSN Staff

"[We have] socialism for the rich and rugged free market capitalism for the poor."
I don't think that we should be thanking Mitt for keeping the dream (more like a nightmare!!) alive.
When the contest starts between Obama and Romney, the nation will see what the REPUBLICANS really thinks about him, in living color and in their OWN words.
Nothing is made up, that is precious.
They certainly didn't get Reagan's message. Thank god.
They are the worst bunch of idiots seen in a long, long time. May they all go down in flames.....Soon
NEVER VOTE REPUBLICAN !!
our future is at stake
RepubliCon's have been doing. Fire them no jobs no benefits, no healthcare. To RepubliCon's if you want that go someplace else. Move to Canada, Europe, South America. What we do not need in this country is a business man who looks only at the bottom line
GOTTA give 'im a medal for this production! As always, Barbara, I share your slogan and add: VOTE OUT ALL RED ELEPHANTS AND BLUE DOGS!!! VOTE EARLY! VOTE ABSENTEE! TAKE SENIORS TO THE POLLS OR GET THEM ABSENTEE BALLOTS! VOTE 2012!!! NEVER VOTE REPUBLICAN AGAIN!!!
I understand why die hard rethugs only vote rethug, but if independents and non committed make up 20% of the population, how can they consider voting for him? I just don't get ithow the polls show Obama and Romney tied. Makes no sense to me. I guess Newt's attempt to expose Romney for the fraud he is just displays once again that rethugs don't want to be confused by any facts.
I imagine good ol' George, Mitt's dad, would be rolling in his grave at the behavior of his recalcitrant son.
The thing that keeps amazing me is how all the Repugnants can manage to totally ignore the outrageously important and equally obvious problem of Global Heating. (It is beyond what can be called "warming" any more). As the problems of crop failure due to drought, and loss of land, cities, and shipping facilities to ocean rise begin to cause mass migrations and mass hunger in ever greater parts of the world, we will look back at this election and this time and wonder "How could they have been so stupid?" "How could they have thought they could PROFIT from more coal and oil and natural gas? Wasn't it obvious to them that the atmosphere and ecology of the planet was collapsing right in front of their faces? Didn't disappearing Arctic sea ice and melting glaciers and growing deserts tell them anything?"
There are many calls for radical change, but in the US, the system is not easily changed from top down. We need to elect Representatives and Senators (State and National), and give Obama a second term with some serious support and guidance in Congress. We can change the whole government, including having third parties, if we start at the local level.
Here in Canada our Bush/Cheney loving Prime Minister was shocked by the delay of the Keystone XL pipeline. Hearings are starting into a pipeline that would go from the tar sands to the Pacific coast - through the last intact temperate rainforest on earth! He's warning about the approval process being hi-jacked by "radical environmentalis ts backed by foreign money". He really means scientists. We're all in this together.
He is as much of a madman as Cheney, Bush, and the whole Tbagger mess thrown together. I had a higher opinion of Canada. Now I see that their ignorance is equal to or worse than the US, or there would be a huge public outcry against the whole Tar Sands fiasco, and against this psychopathic tyrannosaurus of a PM.
Do you remember a commercial some years ago, for a butter substitute??
Mother Nature got royally p...ed off and caused thunder and lightning.
That Mother Nature should be used in adds, showing some of the disasters already happening now. Unfortunately there are many.
The republicans and the corporations denying the Climate Change simply don't give a damn, that they are destroying the planet. Money is all that matters to them. May they rot in hell.
The thing that bothers me most about the Republican and other deniers, and corporations which (who?) want to profit on Global Warming is the children and grandchildren. They will look back on our era and wonder how we could have been so stupid.
If you have not yet, you will want to read (and get as many others to read as well):
"Storms of My Grandchildren" by Dr. James E Hansen, eminent climate scientist with NASA. Gives a splendid overview of climate science and the looming disasters. Hard science explained and made clear by a true master of this difficult subject.
"Fixing Climate" by Wallace Broecker and William Kunzig. Gives among other things a real appreciation of some of the few heroes of climate science - men and women who had the vision and courage to gather the data we needed to understand how the Earth works.
"The Vanishing Face of Gaia" by James Lovelock. The originator of Gaia theory, that shows that the Earth and its lifeforms form one living whole.
The Production Societies of First Nation communities were progressive ownership societies from youth to elder with everyone male and female owning their means of production in each specialized discipline.
With multihome housing (Longhouse = apartment + Pueblo = townhouse), individuals and families joined together in Economies of Scale with privacy but as well opportunities to economically interact among generations. Women's work and community services were joined collectively into Production Societies so that critical infant, elderly, handicapped and injured care was animated in a system of giving and receiving. 'Economy' from the Greek 'home' originally referred to the multihome as an economy of scale. With women and all stakeholders fully recognized in 'domestic' economy, then industry and commerce were subset economies always under supervision of universal ownership.
As owners specialized professionals grouped as 'caucuses' (Iroquois = 'grouping of like-interests') everyone developed their voice, their power and exercised decision-making in their area of expertise. Before imperial capitalism and socialism our indigenous ancestors from every continent joined together in ownership and Economic Democracy.
Listen up you drug addicts & murderers, white collar crime gets you a chance at being the president.
Give to OWS & the 99% in your area. Not another dime to these thieves.
I mean, let these hacks cut and thrust at each other until they are all bleeding terminally, the wounds infected with their own bile and let their patsies on the networks carry it.
It seems to me that the job of those of us who deem ourselves progressive, however you care to categorize yourselves, is to make it clear to Ob' that he needs to start supporting the progressive stances he ran on if he wants our support for a second term, and do more than just try and raise a billion $ to impress us to be worthy of the leadership he still seems to want.
Y'all know what your favorite causes are: mine tend towards making the military-industrial death machine and culture a true department of defense/peace for good works and diverting funds and huge resources into R.&D. of renewable and clean energy for the future and good of the planet restored and modernized infrastructure (Jobs) and a true health care system for everybody.
That's the last thing these battlin', overfunded babies want, so let's leave them where they belong -in the infotainment media between commercials- and stick to getting out the true message of progressive change and hold the current president's feet to the fire of change by solidarity in critical mass, clear messaging and "Occupy".
VOTE 2012 & INDICT WALL STREET!!! VOTE OUT BLUE DOGS AND RED ELEPHANTS! HELP THE SENIORS TO THE POLLS OR GET BALLOTS TO THEM! AND FINALLY:
NEVER VOTE REPUBLICAN AGAIN!!!!!
We both agree that Geither is a real sore that needs to be excised. But it is a really far fetch assertion to say that Obama is even on the same planet as Romney.
You can't get there from here. Check the facts.
Be fair.
Romney saying we are "envious" is like saying that the victim of a theft is "envious" of the thief.
Would wonder what a similar ad on Newt by Romney would look like.
Rove mad about the Ad. He is the master of this kind of thing and now he's mad that some one is doing what he has always done.
WEEEELLLLLL, WHAT ABOUT MORE THAN A MILLION WISCONSIN CITIZENS SIGNING THE RECALL PETITION FOR SCOTT WALKER????
In my opinion THAT'S impressive, for they had very little time to gather the signatures, and they only needed 500.000?
And I think that will light a fire under a freat many people.
I have to say, Obama has the worst judgment is his appointments of any president. Bush cannot be counted because Cheney ran his government and Cheney was a pyshopath. Obama is credited with being smart, a constitutional lawyer, a democrat, and a progressive. He should know better. But he doesn't. He's thinking of appointing Larry Summers as president of the World Bank. Summers should be in jail. Summers is one of the most corrupt human beings on earth. Make him the head of the World Bank! OMG.
No of these people give a shit about us. It wouldn't surprise me if we ended up like Syria and turn on these pople in congress like pit bulls....screw them..
